Postdoctoral Researchers
The Helms group is currently seeking postdoctoral researchers with expertise in electrochemistry and batteries, organic and polymer chemistry, as well as in mechanical properties of reconfigurable materials (polymers, composites, etc.). Prospective applicants should be adventurous with a strong record of accomplishment in synthetic chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or mechanical engineering. Please send your curriculum vitae, a brief research summary, and contact information for three references to Brett.
Graduate Students
Prospective UC Berkeley graduate students from Chemistry (both Physical and Synthetic tracks), Chemical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering are encouraged to visit the Helms Group either at the Molecular Foundry (Building 67) or at GPL (Building 33). Email Brett to set up a meeting time.
Undergraduate Students
Summer undergraduate interns join our group through LBNL's SULI, BLUR, and CCI programs, the deadlines for which are typically in the winter months. UC Berkeley undergraduate students have a variety of mechanisms to join our group: UC Leads, BECI, and informally as students while pursuing a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science and engineering. Prospective students should contact Brett or a group member whose work aligns with the student's interests. During the academic year it is also possible to obtain course credits for research.
